Not Your Grandfather’s CompTIA A+

Comptia A+

When most of us think of A+ we immediately think – “oh yeah – that is the cert where you learn to build and support a PC.” That is certainly what I thought when I was thrilled to receive the teaching assignment for CBT Nuggets. Boy – have times changed! First of all – it is no longer one exam – it is two. There is 220-901 and 220-902. And most importantly, the topics really do hit the most important in our industry today. Check out some of the themes I was thrilled to teach in this exciting new cert:

  • Blade servers
  • TCP/IP
  • WiFi
  • WiFi Security
  • End System Design
  • Mobile devices and BYOD
  • Virtualization
  • Cloud Computing
  • Network Security
  • Linux
  • Mac
  • Windows
  • Troubleshooting. Troubleshooting, and More Troubleshooting
  • Communication Skills for IT

This certification is so impressive, and a better first step into the industry than ever before!

  1. Definetelly, it is something I can now recommend to the IT new comers ( even the “experienced” ones) mostly when they do not know which area to follow.

Personally, I believe it will be good, as always, to watch Anthony talk and explain all those technologies.

And I showing it to the one who taught me PC Hardware 10 Years ago.

  2. Hey I’ve just completed the nuggets course and use the anki flashcards on my pc. But how do I get the flashcards for the apple mobile app?
I have the anki app already.
    Thanks for your help!

    1. Hi Joe! Jeez – I am not sure on that one. I have always just used the PC or MAC versions of ANKI. I will try an investigate. Was the iPhone app free? I was under the impression that it was a pay app. Also, I think we are thinking about our own custom app at CBT Nuggets. Stay tuned here at the blog for more information about that.

      1. It was actually a $25 app! Which I happily paid to have access all day long to your flashcards. I’m telling you, what a great training course.
Let me know what you find.
        Thanks!
