    1. The videos will be complete sometime next week – my goal is to have the final course published no later than October 18, 2013.

      1. Hi Anthony,

As a recent CCNA R&S & CCDA certified professional, I think passing the first exam should not be difficult based on the Exam Blueprints. However, I am looking forward to sign up for CBT Nuggets for DCICT 640-916 exam once you finish uploading all videos.

My final question would be, how soon will you be working on the CCNP Data Center Track?

  1. Hi Anthony,
I have been studying with these series and I find them amazing. I just have some doubts… As you know, when you get ready for a Cisco exam you really have to dig deep in the technology in order to understand it. Let’s say a OSPF, OSPF is a big topic, therefore, let’s say OSPF Neighbor relationship. You can talk about it but you have to go deeper you learn, hello and dead timers (How often they are sent) Router ID (Where this ID come from) etc.. When you really learn all those little points you start understanding how OSPF really works.
When I watch the videos I easily understand them, but several questions come to my mind, for example: vCP, your explanation was very clear but while I was watching it I started having questions like… What kind of messages are been sent? How often the keepalive messages are being sent. Then you mention HSRP, and suddenly I have tons of questions. All those questions start coming to my head BUT my biggest concern is… How deep the 640-916 exam goes when you take it? Are we gonna get those kind of questions, or they are very soft questions? I hope that I explained well my concern, I don’t want to hit the exam and get very complicated questions that I could answer if I go deeper in the technology.
    Thanks in advance 🙂

    1. Thank you so much for this awesome post! So – you need to remember that I cover the material in a cert course at the depth you need. So for something like vPC – the exam asks about the things I cover. Where are the more detailed questions and where is more detailed information about this critical feature? CCNP Data Center – specifically – DCUFI! By the way – DCUFI is my NEXT course at CBTNuggets and also one of my most favorite Cisco classes of all time. Let me do a post right now (within the hour) and I will give you some sample 640-916 questions for specifically vCP so you can really get a feel! BTW – with all this said – you can always be over prepared for every subject. 🙂 For example – if you wanted to feel like every UCS question was ridiculously simple – you could watch my DCUCI before taking this exam!

      1. Thanks Anthony, probably I am over thinking, but if I go back when I took my CCNA R&S and I was saying after the exam, thanks God I did read this, Thanks God I went deeper, cause I had some heavy questions that weren’t on my plans lol
If you can post some sample would be great!
Last question, do we get lab scenarios in this exam?
        Thanks again!!

        1. Yes – you can expect Simlets in this exam. Those are the style where you pick from Multiple Choice after running show commands “live” at the CLI.

  3. Anthony,
I passed 640-916 on Tuesday with a pretty high score, just 6 weeks after passing 640-911.
I used your Nuggets and a couple of the PDF’s on the Cisco site.

I just wanted to say Thank You Sir.

Looking forward to your CCNP – DC series
    Brian

  4. I have started watching the videos of your DataCenter and am loving it. I want to know if you have any plans of coming out with CCIE DC videos? And also advice if i can pursue CCIE DC without real world experience with DC Technology?

    1. I do indeed. The CCNA and CCNP Data Center tracks are due to rev. I plan on creating those new revisions, then moving to CCIE in that area.

You can ALWAYS achieve a CCIE with real world experience. You just need tons of lab practice. Of course, you end up working harder than a “real world” candidate, but it is ALWAYS possible.
